As pupils and teachers settle into routine after the back to school rush, the first month of the new school term has proved to be highly productive for Northgate Managed Services, a leading provider of education-based ICT services and solutions.

In September alone, an additional 7,000 teachers and learners benefitted from the delivery of new ICT and Northgate’s educational expertise.  The contracts, which are worth over £9m to Northgate, are a firm indication of the company’s strength and reputation within the education sector across the UK.

Included in the new education contracts is the UK’s first free school, Aldborough EACT Free School,  as well as three new Academies including Richard Rose Morton Academy in Carlisle, Malcolm Arnold Academy in Northampton and Havelock Academy in Grimsby.

Pleckgate High School, the first of 18 schools in Blackburn to be completed under the former Government’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme, is also benefiting from a flexible ICT rich learning environment supported by Northgate.

For each school, Northgate has tailored bespoke services and solutions to meet its specific requirements. These incorporate a range of teaching and learning tools including wired and wireless networks, remote access, cashless catering, access control, managed print and Northgate’s cloud-based online learning portal, My School. Northgate's service desk and onsite teams will continue to support and manage the ICT in these schools. In addition to maximising the potential for learners and enriching the educational experience, the services will also deliver long term cost savings and efficiencies.

Commenting on the company’s ever expanding reach into the UK education sector, Chris Wiseman, Education Sales Director of Northgate Managed Services said:
“The new academic year has highlighted the key role Northgate is playing in delivering ICT in education today. This is not only good news for learners and teachers at the many schools, colleges and Academies we are servicing, but it is also recognition for the educational team at Northgate Managed Services.
“Ensuring each establishment was ready for the new school year was a top priority and was achieved thanks to the expertise and dedication of our on-site and service desk teams. This approach, coupled with our partnerships with suppliers, local authorities, contractors and the schools themselves has ensured every teacher and pupil – no matter what stage they’ve reached on their educational journey – has access to the very best resources and most up to date learning environment.”
