Xerox (NYSE:XRX) is acting upon its strategy of growing its channel distribution with the addition of a third distributor to its UK line up.
Micro-P joins Ingram Micro and Computer 2000 as part of Xerox’s bid to target SMBs with its desktop printing and supplies products.
Xerox is keen to shed its image of a direct-sales organisation. “We know have a pan-European channels grouping place that has given more focus to the indirect channel,” explains UK PR manager Robert Corbishley.
“With its strength in the SMB market and its excellent logistics capability, Micro-P will further increase Xerox’s coverage in this key market and ill provide end users with ready access to our desktop printing and supplies products,” says Bertrand Cerisier, VP, Offerings Marketing, and general manager, Desktop Printing Group, Xerox Europe.
“Adding Xerox to our portfolio allows us to offer further choice to our 8,000 strong B2B reseller base,” adds Ross Turner, print business manager, Micro-P. “We will enable Xerox to deliver next-day into the channel and provide optimum availability.”
Last year the firm signed up 22 European resellers to sell Xerox Print Services (XPS), its enterprise-level managed print services offering, including Bytes, Document Express, and Xenith in the UK.
